I AM currently employed at a branch of MFI. We have just been told of pay cuts of up to 20 percent and the loss of customer care managers in our stores nationwide. Management have done this without consultation and no notice.

What makes the matter worse is that we as a workforce have just provided them with record turnover of over £1 billion and record profits of £158 million. The share price has risen significantly in the last few months. We have had a wave of upset and anger amongst staff and many are already leaving the firm because of this.

Many have joined the Usdaw shop workers' union (100 percent in some stores) and we have a large underground web-based bulletin board where we are discussing industrial action and various other activities. The address of this site is
