Unite union members at the Fujitsu IT firm in Crewe struck on Thursday of last week over the company singling out Alan Jenney for redundancy.
Unite believes that Alan has been targeted because he is a union rep.
Workers picketed their site in Crewe before travelling to Manchester to take part in the huge demonstration by strikers in the UCU, PCS, NUT and ATL unions.
Union members across the company back Alan’s fight.
Members at Fujitsu Manchester have voted to ballot for action unless there is progress in talks.
Management were given a deadline of the beginning of this week to prove they were willing to talk before this was to begin.
Workers at Fujitsu in Belfast also held a solidarity protest on Thursday of last week.
The union has asked people to send pictures of themselves holding “Defend Alan Jenney” placards to the www.ourunion.org.uk website. You can also download a collection sheet from there.
