Kamal Abu Aita, the president of the Egyptian tax collectors’ union (above), brought solidarity to the picket line at Euston Tower in central London.
He said to cheers, “Our struggle against poverty and exploitation is global. We have to take up the slogan of the Egyptian revolution, ‘The people want the downfall of the regime.’
“But that slogan needs to become, ‘We want the downfall of the world system.’ We are all one in the struggle against capitalism. We can build a world without oppression and exploitation.”
