Demonstrators braved torrential rain last Saturday to protest against the Health and Social Care Bill, which threatens mass privatisation in the NHS and £20 billion of cuts.
Up to 150 people gathered at Homerton Hospital in east London, which faces £15 million of cuts and threats of ward closures.
Dr Jonathan Tomlinson, a Hackney GP, together with a consultant from the hospital, warned protesters what the government bill would mean for the NHS.
Protesters then linked hands in a symbolic gesture of protection.
The protest was organised by Hackney Coalition to Save the NHS.
