Forced to work part-time as no full-time available

Issue No. 2261

Some 90,000 people took temporary or part-time jobs because they couldn’t find full-time, permanent ones, a survey shows.

The Labour Force Survey last week also showed that 24,500 more people claimed job seekers’ allowance in June.

The number of job vacancies fell by 26,000 in the three months to June—and redundancies are up.
