Socialist Worker Appeal

Issue No. 1869

'Socialist Worker stands up for the people. It stands up against racism. It stands up for jobs. It stands up over the war. You couldn't imagine the Labour Party doing that, but Socialist Worker does.'

THE Socialist Worker Appeal to raise £150,000 is under way. Our supporters have already raised £24,011 to help us carry on improving Socialist Worker. A council worker from south east London sent in £325 that he has collected from colleagues at work so far. Socialist Worker readers are also organising fundraising events. There will be an evening of live jazz in Bristol with a talk by Martin Smith on the music of John Coltrane.

Kent SWP are organising a 'Glamour Bingo Evening'. Hackney Socialist Worker readers have organised 'Red October', a month of revolutionary films, plays, an art exhibition and a night of political music.

And there will be a national sponsored bike ride on Sunday 26 October (call the appeal office for more information). You can make donations using cheques (payable to SW Appeal) or credit/debit cards.

Send cheques to SW Appeal, PO Box 82, London E3 3LH
