The vigil for James Fallah-Williams

Asylum seeker James Fallah-Williams reached the 14th day of a hunger strike on Monday in protest at his treatment by the UK Border Agency.

Supporters protested outside the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal Offices in Manchester.

James, a journalist and human rights activist, fled Sierra Leone in West Africa at the height of its civil war in 1998.

He studied, worked and volunteered in Britain for ten years with full legal rights. He was refused asylum in 2008, and began his hunger strike on 1 August.
