Honda victimisation: 'Solidarity will prevail'

Issue No. 2266

Paddy Brennan, the Unite convenor at the Honda car maker’s plant in Swindon, remains suspended on what members believe are “trumped-up charges”.

A meeting between the union and management did not take place last week due to concerns identified by Unite.

Union activists from around the country have shown their support for Paddy by sending him messages of solidarity. Many believe his suspension is part of an attack on the union.

Bosses are trying to change a double time payments deal for Saturday working.

Paddy said, “I would like to thank everyone who has emailed, texted and rang me.

“I cannot respond to every single text sent but it is noted and appreciated by me, all the stewards, our members and Unite. Solidarity will prevail.”
