Southampton council workers to decide next steps

Issue No. 2266

Union members at Southampton council were set to decide the next steps for their campaign of strikes as Socialist Worker went to press.

The joint Unison and Unite unions’ strike committee met on Tuesday to talk about the battle against pay cuts.

Workers are three months into a programme of rolling strikes.

Some 600 union members voted by four to one to reject the council’s latest offer at a mass meeting two weeks ago.
