Thousands of protesters from across Britain are expected to march on the first day of the Tory party conference.
The TUC is organising the demonstration under the title “Manchester for the Alternative”.
It will gather at 12 noon on Sunday 2 October, on Manchester city centre’s Liverpool Road.
The call to protest was initiated by the Right to Work campaign.
The PCS union this week urged its members to join the demonstration, as well as the protest against the Lib Dems’ conference in Birmingham on Sunday 18 September.
PCS general secretary Mark Serwotka, who will speak at both protests, said, “There is an alternative to their recipe of cuts and misery.
“I urge the hundreds of thousands of trades unionists who supported the demonstration in March, and the strikes in June, to make every effort to attend the demos in Birmingham and Manchester.”
