Strike against slippery bosses

Issue No. 2268

Some 200 agency workers walked out on strike at Pratt’s Bananas in Luton, Bedfordshire, on Thursday of last week after attacks on their conditions and pay.

Management locked workers out of the plant in response and told them they were sacked.

Workers in the GMB union demonstrated outside the factory demanding a meeting with management.

They were set to meet outside the factory on Wednesday to organise taking on the employers.
