Hundreds of campaigners against Tory plans to “reform” the NHS joined a lobby of parliament last week.

Activists in the Keep Our NHS Public group and the Healtworkers’ Network joined forces with the TUC to protest against the health and social care bill.

Pauline, a nurse from St Thomas’s hospital, said, “Our patients are already suffering from NHS cuts. This bill will make the cutbacks worse.”

Tory plans to hand the NHS were passed after spineless Lib-Dem MPs rallied to the government’s aid.

The bill is now in the House of Lords, where campaigners hope to win amendments.
