College strike against pay freeze

Issue No. 2271

Workers at Stow College in Glasgow were set to strike on Wednesday of this week against a pay freeze.

Some of the 90 Unison union members due to take part in the action are paid just above the minimum wage.

They include support workers, admin staff, caretakers and caterers.

Inflation, coupled with rising utility costs, mean that the pay freeze is actually a pay cut.

Canteen workers will also be on strike between 4 and 6, and 11 and 13 October.

Send messages to protest against the pay freeze to Robert McGrory, the college principal, at enquiries@stow.ac.uk, and messages of support to Unison Glasgow at enquiries@glasgowcityunison.co.uk
