Wandsworth Against Cuts demonstrates over riot evictions

by John Clossick
Issue No. 2271

A lobby took place outside Wandsworth’s Tory council on Wednesday of last week as they began an emergency meeting on riots and evictions.

Protesters from Wandsworth Against Cuts filled the public gallery and made their voices heard—to the consternation of her worshipful the mayor.

The proposed eviction of an innocent family—a mother and eight-year old sister—is because of an accusation against the 18-year old son. He has pleaded not guilty to riot-related offences and has not yet gone to trial.

There is growing outrage in south London at the Wandsworth Tories and their repressive measures. A public meeting is now planned on the estate to organise opposition.
