Fury grows at NHS cuts

The number of NHS trusts predicting a budget deficit has trebled in the last 12 months.

Many NHS trusts say they can’t make the £20 billion of “efficiency savings” the Tories have demanded.

Fury at the government’s health and social care bill is growing.

Protesters from the UK Uncut group, together with the Health Workers’ Network, plan to block Westminster Bridge in London this Sunday from 1pm.

Plans to transfer healthcare services in Gloucestershire to a social enterprise, reported in Socialist Worker last week, have been postponed after a legal challenge.

Health workers in Northern Ireland were set to strike on Wednesday of this week.
