TGWU UNION members at the chemicals firm Nalco began a series of strikes on Friday of last week against the company’s attempts to derecognise their union.

The dispute is taking place in Northwich, Cheshire, where Nalco imposed a 1.7 percent pay increase on the workforce. This broke a longstanding agreement with the union. Workers voted unanimously to strike.
