President Bashar al-Assad’s regime in Syria is hijacking ambulances and kidnapping injured protesters from hospital beds in a desperate attempt to stem opposition.
One global rights organisation, Avaaz, says they have evidence of 57 patients being seized from hospitals in Homs and Lattakia.
It also says nine doctors have been detained.
This mirrors attempts by the Bahraini regime to persecute medical staff for treating opposition protesters.
But the repression in Syria has failed to break the revolt.
A number of mass student marches took the streets just this week.
