Cleaners set to strike

Issue No. 2274

More than 300 cleaners employed by Carlisle Cleaning and Support Services on the Virgin West Coast Mainline contract are set to strike on Monday of this week.

The workers in the RMT union voted by a massive 94 percent for action on pay and union recognition.

Bosses have imposed a 2 percent pay rise worth just 6p an hour. They have also moved to derecognise the union.
