Some interesting links between Tories and business:
- George Bridges, the former campaign director for the Tories and one of David Cameron’s close allies, now heads Quiller Consultants, a “strategic communications” firm. He took on a new client in January: the City of London Corporation.
- Sir Kevin Tebbit, the former permanent under-secretary at the Ministry of Defence, is now on the board of AgustaWestland—which also employs Sir Geoff Hoon, a former Labour defence secretary.
- Andrew MacKay resigned as a parliamentary aide to Cameron after being ordered to repay £31,000 in incorrectly claimed expenses last year. He promptly joined Burson-Marsteller, one of the world’s biggest communications firms, on a six-figure salary. He works as an international consultant and strategic adviser for the firm, which lists HSBC among its clients.
