The Kandhamal district of the eastern Indian state of Odisha saw some of the worst examples of communal violence in the country’s history in 2008.

This documentary uses survivors’ testimony to describe how Hindu supremacist groups, supported by the state, turned tribal people against low caste Hindus who converted to Christianity.

The economically poor area is rich in minerals. Britain and the World Bank have helped push neoliberalism into the area.
