March for jobs arrives in London

Issue No. 2277

After five weeks and 330 miles, 20 young marchers arrived in London with a 12,000-name petition calling for action to create jobs.

Around 1,000 supporters turned out to join them for the final leg of the march to Downing Street.

The march began in Jarrow in the north-east of England.

It was organised by the Youth Fight For Jobs campaign.

Two college students on the march, Dylan Hussey and Lizi Gray, are descended from veterans of the original Jarrow march that took place 75 years ago.
