Probation officers

Issue No. 1835

PROBATION OFFICERS in England and Wales are set to take a one-day strike on Wednesday 29 January. This comes after an overwhelming vote for industrial action by members of the Napo union.

A probation officer from South Yorkshire told Socialist Worker, 'People are very, very angry. Our workload has increased massively. We are even monitored for toilet breaks! Last week in South Yorkshire we had one of our biggest ever branch meetings. There was a unanimous vote to continue with action.'
