The phone hacking scandal gets the satirical treatment in this one-off comedy from writer Guy Jenkin.

Jenkin made his name with the 1990s comedy Drop the Dead Donkey. Hacks is also set in a newsroom populated by amoral reporters desperate for scandal.

We see bullying editors, a dodgy Australian media mogul, and a future prime minister named David Bullingdon looking to make a deal.

But the question is—can the real life phone hacking scandal be made to look any more ridiculous than it is already?

Hacks is on Channel 4 on New Years Day
