BAE lobby in defence of jobs

Issue No. 2283

Over 100 workers from BAE’s manufacturing plant in Brough, east Yorkshire, were set to hold a lobby of parliament on Wednesday of this week.

The workers, in the Unite and GMB unions, hope to reverse the decision to close BAE’s Brough site with the loss of 899 skilled jobs.

As well as lobbying MPs, a delegation of BAE workers will also hand a petition to David Cameron in Downing Street.
