Uni bosses ban Brum sit-ins

Issue No. 2283

Birmingham University has won a high court injunction against all occupation protests on its campus for the next 12 months.

The move comes after Sheffield University won a similar injunction, but was then forced to back down by pressure from the student union and local campaigners.

Birmingham University management has taken a hard stance against activists—suspending students and barring them from campus.

Student activists have vowed to challenge the ban and hold mass protests on campus if the management fails to back down.
