The NUT union will begin strike ballots of its members in sixth form colleges over pay and conditions on 16 January.
Sixth form college teachers face a pay freeze, increased contact hours with students and job cuts.
The union will hold two ballots for discontinuous action covering two disputes.
The first dispute is against the secretary of state over funding levels for sixth form colleges that impact on teachers’ pay and conditions.
The second dispute is with individual college employers over their failure to make a pay offer to NUT members or to try and address worsening conditions.
Both ballots end on 30 January.
Workers should vote yes to both questions.
