Homeless die 30 years sooner

Issue No. 2284

A report by the charity Crisis reveals that homeless people die about 30 years sooner than average.

The average age of death for homeless men is 47, and just 43 for homeless women, according to the report based on research by Sheffield University.

It also showed that homeless people were nine times more likely to kill themselves, and twice as likely to die of infections.
