Higher education attacks in doubt

Issue No. 2287

The government is planning a major climb down in its assault on higher education, according to reports circulating as Socialist Worker went to press.

The Daily Telegraph newspaper reported on Tuesday that David Cameron had withdrawn elements of the attacks, which were part of the higher education white paper.

But it is not yet clear which parts of the hated proposals will be scrapped.

The government has faced a barrage of opposition from students and lecturers over their plans for higher education.

Mass opposition can kill off all their plans to wreck education.
