LGBT History Month: OutStories Bristol talks and tours

Issue No. 2288

OutStories Bristol aims to collate and preserve the social history of LGBT people in Bristol. It has scheduled a string of talks in the city throughout February.

These include a “mystery history” city tour by author Andrew Foyle on 19 February. Foyle’s itinerary includes 18th century meeting points for men seeking sex with each other, and sites in Bristol where lesbian Suffragettes held protests.

Local author Robert Howes talks about Bristol’s recent LGBT history in a talk at Bristol Central Library on 21 February.

On 26 February LGBT historian Rictor Norton gives a talk at the M Shed museum on the rich and unexpected history of gay and lesbian marriage in Georgian England.
