Sixth form teachers vote for strikes

Issue No. 2288

Sixth form teachers in the NUT union have voted overwhelmingly for strikes in two ballots.

They backed strikes by 76 percent in a ballot over government funding cuts.

The cuts will have a negative impact on pay and conditions.

Teachers also voted by 72 percent in support of strikes against employers’ attempts to impose a pay freeze—which is a pay cut in real terms.
