Lib Dem environment minister Chris Huhne resigned last week following accusations that he tried to fiddle his speeding penalty points.
He is due in court on Thursday over the allegations, which he denies.
Millionaire Huhne boasts he has “two homes we actually use” plus five more he rents out.
Yet he once claimed expenses of 59p for a packet of Hobnob biscuits—and £85.35 for the “mounting, framing and inscription of photo of Chris Huhne”.
In August 2010 Huhne demanded that ministers shouldn’t take severance pay when they leave office.
For once Socialist Worker agrees with him. Since Huhne is an honest man he presumably will not be taking the £17,000 cash he gets for resigning, and will refuse his increased pension pot for being a minister.
