Cleaners at London’s St Pancras station are set to strike for 48 hours this week over pay. They are currently paid £6.76 an hour and are demanding £8 plus sick pay.
Their action will start at 6am on Thursday, with a further 48 hours scheduled for two weeks later.
The cleaners are members of the RMT union and work for Initial. They look after first class facilities on Eurostar and other services at the station.
RMT members employed by OCS on the Eurostar recently won their pay claim. The OCS cleaners will see their pay rise from £7.40 an hour to £8 by November. Cleaners on the West Coast main line struck last year and won a 10 percent pay rise.
