Scottish education workers are moving to join the next round of pensions strikes.
The executive of the EIS Scottish teachers’ union is to begin a consultation on further action over the government’s attacks on pensions.
The consultation with members will begin on 27 February and run until 15 March—the same time scale at the National Union of Teachers (NUT) in England and Wales.
The consultation will consider further action over pensions, in conjunction with other unions. the union’s leadership is recommending further action.
The NUT, the PCS civil service workers’ union and part of the UCU lecturers’ union are also planning to strike again over the issue. The next strike has been set for 28 March.
