Birmingham banner drop student found not guilty

Issue No. 2292

Student activist Edd Bauer has been found not guilty of intentionally causing danger to the public and conspiring with others to do so.

Edd was arrested on 16 September last year after unfurling a banner in Birmingham against the Lib Dem conference in the city.

Disgracefully he was suspended as the vice president of education at Birmingham University Students’ Union “indefinitely”. But the case collapsed last week when the CPS failed to produce evidence at his trial.
