Police shoot man dead in Cheshire

Issue No. 2293

Police killed a man in Culcheth, Cheshire, last Saturday. Anthony Grainger was sat in a car when police shot him.

The police have said that Anthony was about to commit a robbery. He was unarmed.

It is the first time police marksmen have killed someone since officers shot Mark Duggan dead in Tottenham last August, sparking riots.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission is investigating the case.
