Ken Loach backs union election bid

Issue No. 2294

Film director Ken Loach is backing the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition (Tusc) in May’s London Assembly elections.

The director of Kes and The Wind that Shakes the Barley says he is backing Tusc “because we need to elect representatives who will fight for the interests of ordinary people”.

Alex Gordon, president of the RMT rail workers’ union, heads the coalition’s list for the Assembly.

He would be elected if the coalition wins 5 per cent of the vote across London.

Tusc London election launch rally: Wednesday 21 March, 7.15pm, 235 Shaftesbury Avenue, London WC2H 8EP
