Teen charged for war comments

Issue No. 2294

An Asian teenager has been charged with a 'racially aggravated public order offence' for making critical comments about British soldiers on his Facebook page.

Azhar Ahmed from Dewsbury complained about the attention paid to dead soldiers and the lack of coverage when Afghan civilians are killed.

'He didn't make his point very well and that is why he has landed himself in bother,' said a spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police.
