Anti fascists march in Bolton

by Paul Jenkins
Issue No. 2296

Around 100 local anti-fascists marched through Bolton town centre on Saturday of last week in response to a racist protest by the North West Infidels (NWI).

Only around 25 NWI supporters showed their faces, including members of the British National Party (BNP) and English Defence League (EDL). The NWI is a splinter group of the EDL.

The Bolton Unite Against Fascism counter-protest was supported by the local NUT union, Bolton Trades Council and local councillor Stephen Pickup. Many young Asian people joined the demonstration.
