Former Respect MP George Galloway was in the closing stages of his by-election campaign in Bradford West as Socialist Worker went to press.
He is standing on an anti-privatisation, anti-cuts and anti-war ticket in a seat that has been held by the Labour Party since 1974.
An election rally on Sunday night attracted over 1,000 supporters to hear George’s message.
“This campaign in Bradford has brought an eruption of the young, the poor, the frustrated and the dispossessed against the city’s complacent political elite,” Galloway told Socialist Worker.
Bradford voters go to the polls on Thursday of this week. The by-election follows the resignation of previous Labour MP Marsha Singh on health grounds.
