- Peter Cruddas is a billionaire with a private jet and a £10 million apartment in Monaco.
Cruddas had lived there to enjoy his offshore tax status. He returned to Britain in order to legally donate money to the Tories. Cruddas has given no less than £1.2 million.
His buys identical pairs of fine Italian shoes for all his houses, and always wears a £250,000 platinum Zenith watch—one of 15 he owns.
Much has been made of his apparently poor background. When asked what happened to his school, he said, “Think it got burnt down by immigrants.”
- Sarah Southern describes herself as a “political consultant” with access to top Tories. On her business card she is pictured alongside David Cameron.
Southern proposed a fee of £15,000 per month, and suggested a meeting with Cruddas to discuss what a “huge donation” would mean. It would gain access to Cameron.
Cruddas has told donors,“[If] Sarah rings me up one day and says I’ve got this really important guy coming to this event, you know, really need to make sure George Osborne says hello to him, and I’ll make sure that happens.”
