Gary MacFarlane, part of Trade Unionist and Soclalist Coalition (TUSC) list for the London Assembly, spoke at the protest for Trayvon Martin last week.
He spoke to Socialist Worker:
“When I spoke at the protest, I drew parallels with the case of Mark Duggan here.
It’s important for TUSC to give a voice to marginalised sections of the community.
The news that there isn’t going to be another inquest is another sign of how out of touch they are. Not just the politicians, but the authorities in general.
Lots of people took the TUSC postcards.
The working class of London, black and white, demand justice. TUSC’s campaign can be part of that struggle.
Riots are ‘the voice of the unheard’. I hope we can make them heard in the election.”
