BBC network operations workers vote for strike

Issue No. 2297

Some 15 network operation centre workers have voted for strikes after being excluded from the BBC’s final pension scheme.

The workers are members of the Bectu union at Bush House in central London. They transferred from Babcock Communications to the BBC at the end of last year. They had the option of being part of the final salary pension scheme at Babcock and transferred under Tupe regulations, but were refused access to a similar pension scheme.

The BBC also announced a further 140 job losses this week.
