Victory against Aberdeen council sell-off

Aberdeen City Council’s privatisation plans have been beaten in a victory for the Unison union branch there.

The council, run by a Lib Dem-SNP coalition, had been planning a sell-off including its customer care, benefits and regulations services.

But Labour and SNP councillors voted down the plan last week after a long campaign by the union branch.
