Barnsley unions call protest against NHS cuts

Issue No. 2298

On Saturday last week more than 60 people joined a demonstration called by health unions in Barnsley to protest against attacks on the NHS.

The end rally was addressed by two local MPs and Kailash Chand, the GP who launched an e-petition that gathered over 178,000 signatures against the NHS bill.

People called for resistance to closures and privatisations caused by the new laws. The rally was supported by Barnsley trades council, Barnsley GMB, Unison and UCU.
