Nottingham teachers strike against term change

Issue No. 2299

NUT union members across Nottingham struck on Tuesday of this week against council plans to change their term structure.

It was their second one-day strike against the plans.

Nottingham City Council wants schools to have five terms a year instead of the current three.

This would create disruption for workers, teachers and parents. More than 100 strikers lobbied and occupied a Nottingham City Council building.

A further strike is planned for Wednesday of next week.
