Fight the MMP sackings

Issue No. 2300

Workers sacked by Mayr Melnhof Packaging in Bootle, Merseyside, are continuing their campaign.

Over 140 workers, members of the Unite union, were locked out and subsequently sacked after striking against redundancies. Now they are putting pressure on the firm’s clients.

Last week workers from three US unions leafleted a Kellogg’s shareholders meeting in Michigan.

This week the sacked workers were set to visit an MMP shareholders’ meeting in Austria.

There have been dozens of protests in Britain too.
