Surrey refuse workers refuse low pay

Issue No. 2300

Refuse workers in Mole Valley, Surrey, struck for 24 hours over pay on Friday of last week.

They are members of the Unite union working for waste management company Biffa.

The workers are fighting a two-year below inflation pay deal of 1.25 percent for 2011 and 1.75 percent for 2012.

They followed the strike with an overtime ban and work to rule.
