Tory cuts snatch care from sick

Issue No. 2300

Older and disabled people face a serious threat to their living standards because of the Tories’ cuts.

Care budgets were slashed by £1 billion in England last year, the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services says.

It predicts the same cut over the next two years.

The cuts mean that people requiring social care are being left without the help they need.

They are leaving people without help they need to feed or wash themselves.

In other cases, families are expected to take on the burden of caring for sick relatives.
