Murdoch scandal: links to an unsolved murder

Issue No. 2301

The police and the Crown Prosecution Service have completed a report into the collapse of a murder trial last year.

Daniel Morgan was murdered on 10 March 1987.

Despite five police investigations, no one has ever been convicted of Daniel's murder. The police have admitted corruption in the case.

The trial of prime suspect Jonathan Rees collapsed last year. He ran a phone hacking operation for the News of the World.

But the police are only going to let the Morgan family see the report on 21 May.

Murdoch senior and junior say they have only recently become aware of the case.
