Three unions could turn off the BBC

Issue No. 2301

Workers in the NUJ, Bectu and Unite unions are all balloting for strikes at the BBC.

The ballot is over pay, a new appraisal system and compulsory redundancies caused by management’s failure to keep to an agreement on redeployment.

All three unions are calling for a yes vote. The ballot closes on 21 May. Strikes could disrupt coverage of the queen’s jubilee.

MMP campaign for justice continues

The Unite union members and their supporters have been protesting outside the firm’s clients.

Last week a delegation protested at MMP’s shareholders meeting in Austria. Targets this week include Kellogg’s cereals and Waitrose supermarkets.
